Education

Education is important to the City of Evergreen and the Conecuh County School System.  Programs have been initiated to increase the quality of primary and secondary education in the city's schools, including a dual-enrollment program with Reid State Technical College.  For more information about the Conecuh County School System, visit www.conecuh.k12.al.us.

Recent accomplishments include:

• In 2008, 100% of the senior class at Hillcrest High School passed all parts of the Alabama High School Graduation Examination.
• Evergreen Elementary School, Thurgood Marshall Middle School, and Hillcrest High School are designated as Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) Schools.
• Evergreen Elementary School, Conecuh County Junior High, Lyeffion Junior High, and Repton Junior High are Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI) Schools.
• Evergreen Elementary School is an Alabama Reading First Initiative (ARFI) School.
